Node.Philly 2012

http://node.ph... I wanted to introduce myself and let everyone know about Node.Philly 2012. I am organizing this event in hopes to build and foster the Node.js community in and around Philadelphia. We have arranged for some of the leading members of the Node.js community to come out and speak, hang out, share some food and beer, network and get to know a little more about Node.js. We have sessions scheduled from intro to Node, all the way to more advanced topics from one of the top developers at Mozilla. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Use discount code "phillyjs" to get $5 off your ticket (note this is good for "early bird" tickets as well so you can get a ticket for only $10 until March 16th). I'd would be more than happy to answer any questions and would love to get know folks in this group.

I thought it was decent. Food was good, the networking was just ok. I would have liked to see maybe 2 less speakers and 45 min more networking time. A couple of presentations were a bit weak in terms of substance, there are much better podcasts out there than a couple of them. Cynwin, really?

Although I had to leave the meetup early, the limited time spent listening to the speakers and the presentations was worthwhile. The moderator, Mikeal, was very knowledgeable and did a great job delegating, as well as answering, questions. I look forward to the next PhillyJS meet up.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
