This month is Database Month, a festival of database events every weekday evening starting next week until the end of January. Everyone is welcome to attend and/or send their teams, all that is needed is to RSVP: http://www.DatabaseMonth.com
All but one of the events are free (and that event is near-free and includes free wine and beer for everyone.)
The festivities include:
MongoDB presentation by the Co-Founding CTO of 10gen (the MongoDB company)
MySQL scaling and high-availability presentations from the CEO of Scalebase, CTO of SkySQL, CEO of Schooner and CTO of Continuent
CouchDB, Membase & Memcached presentation by the VP of Engineering for Couchbase (the Membase/CouchDB company)
Renormalizing SQL to behave like a NoSQL/document-database by the CTO of Akiban
For those who cannot make it, we are going to try to live-stream all the events via the GoChat group video-chat
toolbar on the www.DatabaseMonth.com
web site - but this will be dependent on Internet-availability at each venue.
Either way, all the events are recorded in HD and will posted to the IT Management & Leadership eMagazine (http://www.LeadIT.us
) in February.
Hope to see you all there!
