I will be at the meetup on 11/16.? I'm very new to all of this.... not a programmer by trade or by formal training but think I'm a techie by nature and have been doing a lot of self-tutorials online to teach myself the basics of Python.?? I'm very interested in learning more about practical applications of Python, meeting people who are using it, and look for ways to get some experience developing in Python.
I agree about making the website more useful... there's not much of substance there now.??? As I've been learning I've been keeping a list of tutorials I found most useful, as well as reference guides and games and exercises that let you practice coding skills that I'd be happy to share.? I'm sure everyone else will be far beyond where I am - but it might be useful to other newbies.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Turns out that the days are pretty close in terms of availability.
But, 11/16 did get one more vote than the other 2 days.
So, I have the auditorium here booked for our meeting. I'll ensure we
have some pizza & soda.
The address is:
401 N. Broad St
When you get here, there's a pair of glass doors that lead to stairs
(and an elevator) up to the mezzanine. Sign in at the desk. I'll hang
out and wait for everyone to show up, then we can head up to the
So if everyone shows up who voted, there should be 9 of us. If you
didn't vote, feel free to come. I would just appreciate a heads up so
I know roughly who to expect.
This is the part where I beg folks to share what you're working on
with the rest of us. I'm sure you've solved a problem or done
something cool this month. Stand up and say so :)
I'm happy to babble at people, but the past few weeks have had me
learning and configuring linux HA clusters. So, if you want to hear a
bunch of stuff about multicast, process monitors and cluster quorum we
can grab a beer after the meeting. But it has nothing directly to do
I did, however, want to have a discussion about the phillypug.org
website. I have a couple ideas about things we could add to it to make
it a stronger source of information. So, if you have ideas about
anything related to the web site and things we can either integrate
with or use/build to both make phillypug.org more visible and of more
utility to python developers in the area, now is your chance to speak
