Bachata vs. Salsa - Killer Moves Edition

Alex Morel of Carribean Soul dance company will be teaching the workshops. There will be a beginner Bachata lesson taught by Jose from 7pm til 8pm, this will be the "free" lesson as part of the $10 cover price, see below for more details.   Intermediate Bachata class will be 8pm il 9pm, where you will learn some killer moves from Alex, who was just at BachataFest performing and teaching. His 9pm lesson will be more Bachata, this time some advanced moves for the intermediate and above dancers.  Classes are $10 each but if you are a member of The Philly Salsa Meetup and you RSVP for the evening, you only pay $6 for one class, and just $10 for the two lessons by Alex.

7pm Beginner Bachata lesson with Jose -      $10.00

8pn Advanced Bachata lesson with Alex -    $16.00

9pm  More advanced Bachata with Alex -   $20.00

10pm Social dance cover price is still just  $10.00

So why not take advantage of these specials that Jose puts together for us because you will not find classes with with well known instructors for this price.....NOWHERE!! Also, there will be a special guest DJ Raj More so this night is definitely not to be missed. Lots of free parking, BYOB, look for the Meetup Tables at our regular area.

Thanks to all that came out and supported the event it's the only way I can continue to give you lessons with top instructors at such a low cost. Philly Salsa Meetup is definitely VIP at stardust. See you Saturday at La Peirre for more fun.

Thank you Jose for doing what you do so well! I can see why Philly Salsa Meetup is at VIP status. My two time experience has been fun upbeat and lively. As a newbie it feels like being out of pocket; but hey, after 52 or so more visits/lesson I will be good to go!!

Great time, special guest teacher taught some "Killer" moves, and Jose gave both a beginners class and played a great mix. It has become obvious that the efforts of Jose to really elevate the Bachata skills of the local community has paid off, Bachata songs will load the dance floor almost as much as Salsa. And it looks like Kizomba has made its mark, more and more dancers are venturing out on the floor. With this style of dance and music only recently being brought to Stardust event, it looks like we have embraced it like a dance partner. If anyone has photos from this event, please post them. Catch up soon. M

Just to make sure I understand this correctly, if I decide to go to the 8pm lesson, 9pm lesson and stay for the party then I pay $16?

If you take Jose's beginners class at 7pm, it will be just $10.00, that is the lesson and the cover for the dance included. The 8pm lesson with Alex is $6.00, so it is just $16.00 if you stay for the Social dancing. The 9pm lesson with Alex is also just $6.00, but if you take both of Alex's lesson, you will only pay just $10.00 for BOTH lessons, and then just the $10.00 cover for the dancing. Just social dancing will be at the normal low price of $10..00 starting at 10:00pm Wristband will be provided for the various lessons.

Quick reminder that the beginner bachata lesson will be at 7 with me before the workshops with Alex and afterwards if you feel up to it you can join in on the intermediate. See you all tonight.

Quick note, The Stardust also sells Bottled Water and some Soft Drinks, and there is usually a light buffet. It is also a BYOB, there is plenty of free parking inside the shopping center.

Each class with Alex is $6 but if you take both it's $10. Party and beginner lesson is $10. So if you take all classes and party it's $20.

$10 for both lessons or $10.00 for each lesson? Confused again :-(

Went to the event last night; first time at an event of this nature. Even though sitting at the back wall watching everyone learn the steps during the lesson taught by Jose was enjoyable fun and lighthearted; I learned real quick that it is better to participate instead of spectate. This time around I will not be sitting down enjoying the view but getting down learning the moves!

For those of you who don't know about Alex he is a is a instructor who has taught workshops internationally. No need to be intimidated because the first hr is beginner but for the more seasoned dancer the second hr will be fun and he will show you why they call him killer moves. Hope you take advantage of this workshop.
