Support Group Parts I & II: Level III

The Support Group In Helping You Overcome

Social Anxiety

Support Group – Part I & Part II (Level 3)

Disclaimer: There is no guaranteed that these practices will help you to recover from social anxiety; however, you put yourself in a great position to recover by putting in the work and techniques used within the treatment program. Recovery will be based on each individual's effect and system in which they apply these techniques.

Part I: The Practice of one-on-one communication and finding out what provokes your anxiety

Interpersonal Skill Builder – In this session you will practice the art of Interpersonal skills. You will initiate a conversation with your partner and try to make friends with them. Pretend that you don’t know them personally. Your job is to influence the person to open up and perhaps get to know you. This could lend to a friendship.

Thought Records: Everyone will receive a table on – past situation, upsetting thoughts, alternative solutions, change in feelings, and action plans.

Goal For The Month – We now should have goals in motion as well as a vision to what we are trying to accomplish in life. Please note that goals do change and if you think of new goals write them down. You can accomplish all goals you have on paper. It takes time management and discipline to continue to pursue and work on goals daily. The new goal for the month would be to make a poster board and find pictures that coincides your goals.

Part II: Enhancing communication in the group setting

Panel Interview with 2: You will do a panel interview with two people. Put your best foot forward to make a great impression! Remember to make eye contact and answer each question with confidence. This practice is to help you build self-confidence. (This is optional for people who aren’t on level 3 – You need to complete monthly goals to go to the next level)

Group Decision - In this part we will make up to 4 questions to ask. Everyone will be given a chance to answer it and have questions of their own. This practice is to work on being more sociable in the group settings.
