I am certain that scheduling meetings for meet ups with Milwaukee area atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and humanists, on the same date and time was an innocent oversight.
Socrates Cafe Meetup, Monday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m.
Alterra Coffee, 1701 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr, Milwaukee WI 53202,[masked]/4551
Milwaukee Atheists September Meetup, Monday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m.

Recently Margaret Downey became president of Atheists Alliance International. I have volunteered to report on her activities as president. The last issue of SECULAR NATION, AAI quarterly, I reported the following on her activities:
"In reviewing Downey's activities since January 2007, one thing became evident--they revolve around promoting unity, [&] co-operation ... When Downey proposed to change the traditional Easter weekend convention date that conflicted with the date for the American Atheist convention, she acted in accordance with the first rule of reciprocal cooperation, "Be Nice First." After AAI member groups voted to accept the change, she stated, "We are now all about ???cooperation, not competition."
Even though I believe the scheduling of two meet ups in the Milwaukee area by two different groups with potentially similar agendas, and potentially similar attendees, was an innocent oversight, I think it would be great if we could take a page from Downey's message of cooperation between groups with similar agendas.
Viewing videos of the sold out convention of AAI in D.C. is an opportunity we could all enjoy together. How about it?
Here is a message from Margaret Downey regarding the AAI conference in D.C.
We are pleased to offer you an opportunity to view all of the convention proceedings as a live Internet video stream. You will be able to see speeches by Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Julia Sweeney and many others from the comfort of your own home (1/10 of what it would have cost for you to attend in person).
Thanks to the fine work of Anthony Gaston Bayou Productions and Joe Reinhardt of Hi-Tech Enterprises Incorporated, you can purchase an Internet password through AAI for the cost of $35 for one event (selecting either the Thursday, September 27 Fundraiser, the Friday, September 28 Dawkins and Harris Program, the Saturday, September 29 Plenary, the Saturday Night Awards Banquet, or the Sunday, September 30 Secular Ceremonies Event), two for $70 or $95 for all 5 events (Thursday, September 27-September 30 as described above). For more
program details, please see the convention schedule. We are pleased to offer you an opportunity to view all of the convention proceedings as a live Internet video stream. Another option, one I favor. If you do not want to see the convention activities in this manner, we suggest that you visit the AAI website in October to purchase quality DVDs of each day/event. The video will cost $25 for your choice of day/event or $75 for the entire disk set (plus postage).
We could easily purchase these DVDs and watch them together. Socrates Cafe, Milwaukee atheists, and SWiFT members.
So, Socrates Cafe, Milwaukee Atheists, and SWiFT members, can we do this? Can we cooperate, pool our resources and have a good time together?
In "Nice Guys Finish First" Richard Dawkins, Evolutionary Biologist states,
"Reciprocal cooperation is the best survival strategy for our species".
