I'm glad this group exists! Thanks and I look forward to more meetings.

Sterling cast of characters. Everybody speaking seems to have a unique POV and that mix - except for the natural and only very occasional one-sided polemic, me included - was mentally powerful. I only wish there had been 100% interaction, but I'm sure that will happen. An awesome bunch w/ Kenny a warm, always on-topic (and born) moderator.

I'd like to come to these when there is a definite place reserved and announced at least several days before the event.

four running conversations is probably not the best way to go.

Interesting intelligent people bouncing ideas and concepts off each other - what's not to like?!

  • The San Francisco Philosophy Group

This was my first group and I look forward to others. I very much liked the positive nature of discussion. All to often groups of people sitting around discussing philosophical topics quickly devolve into unpleasant arguments involving just a few participants. The group is well balanced and facilitated.

What a delight to have the opportunity to spend a few hours in a casual setting discussing ideas solely for the pleasure of the intellectual exchange with other similarly inclined humans. The moderator does a remarkable job of keeping the exchanges lively, inclusive and mostly on the defined topic of the day with divurgations off topic tending to be gently guided, affably tolerated and equally stimulating. Bravo to a superbly conceived and well-executed endeavor!

Each person has the choice either to live according to the philosophies of others or to become a philosopher. This group is for those favoring the latter alternative.

If you like talking about the general, age-old mysteries of life in a casual, not-so-rigorous way then this is the group for you.

Join this group if you want to explore philosophy, contribute to the development of a group discussion, listen and learn. If you have no idea what philosophy is, join this group to get a taste. If you know what philosophy is, join this group and share your knowledge.

Experienced enough of life that you find yourself vexed by what it all can mean? Listen and share with others afflicted by a similar need to seek answers and ask new questions.

To me it's about limbering up some areas of my brain that have not been used in a long time and about stretching my perceptions. I have no idea what others are seeking, but I think if you come with an open mind and a questing nature you will find value here.

Good group of people, also very sincere I think in their desire to communicate - which is not necessarily a given.
