Your group might wish to take advantage of this to help members & to boost meeting attendance

Hi, Ben and Paula,
I'm sending the following to the 137 select bay area humanist/atheist/green/media reform groups who have group events here in the bay area.  As I've stated in the message, it would cost no one anything and possibly be a great help to members and for boosting membership.  It can't work well if you don't let your whole group know about it though (preferably as a permanent blurb/"join" button on your website and a blurb on your monthly event printouts if you have those)----
The following is a Yahoo group specifically designed to help carefully chosen
progressive philosophers/humanists/atheists/greens/media reformers SF bay area
sites/groups that have local events offer
their members rideshare and lodging help whenever they might need it.
It's also good for encouraging new members who would come to your
events if only they could find a ride, so this group could well boost
your group's membership substantially. In a time when Green attitudes
and carpooling are so sensible and needed, it's important to encourage
carpooling to help others but also to reduce greenhouse emissions.

Here is the Yahoo group in question:

Your group is already listed in the "Links" section of the group because it
qualifies as such a progressive group that has local bay area events and local
memberships. The rideshare database tables are also excellent for
humanistic event airport shuttling to and from the SF bay area. Please examine
all the database
tables that might apply to your interests. Anonymity is assured.
From those who offer help, only an email address is required for
making contacts with those who need help. No phone numbers, street
addresses or even names need be listed in table record offering help.

As originator of the "rideshare/lodging" Yahoo group, I assure you
that the need for such a group does exist. Whether or not the
appropriate people find out about it depends largely on whether you
advertise it on your site. Again, you are apt to boost your
membership if you do this, and whether or not there are takers, you
could still be glad to be offering the notice service just in case one
or more of your members do need it in the future.

Not everyone in the SF bay area has or wants motor vehicles, and
public transit is not nearly as good an option as getting direct
rideshare help from a fellow humanist/green. Buses and trains don't
go everywhere, you know, even here in the bay area. Plus, they can
take several hours extra to use and cost more than a rideshare. Let's
encourage the non-ownership of motor vehicles, not punish it.

Please let me know if you wish not to advertise my new Yahoo group
"HumanisticPhilosophersRideshareOrLodging" here on your site, and also
let me know if you prefer that I remove your link from my group's
"Links" section. Local applicable workshops and conferences are also
listed in my links section so much to enjoy is there.

If you do wish to advertise my Yahoo group on your site, please go to the
"Promote" section on the Yahoo group site and click
on the copy the html code there to place a "Join
HumanisticPhilosophersRideshareOrLodging" button on your site.

Thank you for your time and the existence of your local group. If you
know of anyone who might need a ride or humanistic lodging, or might
want to offer those things, please do direct the person to my Yahoo group.
