How do should we decide what to do when face with a choice where some will be forced to lose out for the sake of others?

It's actually pretty hard to find a place that is quiet where a group can sit down and talk. Pubs and even restaurants are often noisy.

A yearly membership to the labor club is less than $10 if I remember correctly. If you're not keen to join, which is understandable, it only takes a couple of minutes to be signed in. You can wave at the table with the Meetup sign on it, or call James the organiser on his mobile. That's my take, James started the meetup, so he may have the reason.

Is there any reason why these meet ups are held at a venue where you need to be a member or be the guest of a member to go? Just curious as someone who is new to Canberra and would be keen on attending but is put off by this.
