Fascinating discussion; perhaps a bit more moderation might be called for...

And mind the double standards, too.

I'm not sure what you mean, A. M. . Is this a real concern that you have, or is that a humorous remark that went over my head? If it's a real concern, please give me some more details and I'll try to address it.

I really enjoyed the videos of the interview with Willard Quine and the follow up discussion. I've put Quine on the top of my reading list. Thanks so much Leonard and Terry for facilitating. Thanks everyone for the illuminating insights and commentary.

    W. V. O. QUINE

Continuing our overview of Analytic Philosophy: One name that has been coming up a lot lately is that of Quine. Willard Van Orman Quine has been described as one of the greatest English-speaking philosophers. He has been influential in the area of epistemic theories of truth and in the area of the analytic/synthetic distinction.

At our 4/14/14 meeting, we’re going to view a discussion between Bryan Magee and Quine. Their discussion is particularly relevant to our group, today, as they cover—in addition to Quine’s contributions to philosophy--a question that was raised at our last meeting: What is philosophy, and what isn’t.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
