This Saturday we will watch DVD lectures nineteen and twenty of the Questions of Value course. The lectures are free and ample time is allotted after each thirty minute lecture for discussion. Everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their views.
In lecture nineteen, Professor Grim examines the role chance and intent have in assigning blame and determining the nature of the moral wrong committed. In lecture twenty, he tackles the issue of personal responsibility for what we do by answering the question: Is free will compatible with determinism?
