Hi, I believe I need an outline, so that would make it 7outlines (Mark, Leonard, Jon, Bill M., Keith & Steve & Heidi). Being new to all this I'm not sure how it all works, but if we meet on Dec. 20 I may not be able to make it due to my fathers birthday and speaking of parents I won't be able to have any meetings at my house either because my parents live in my living room (don't worry it's set up nice for them), but I will try to figure out a place for us if and when it is my turn. Subject: [philosophy-31] APDG's Breakfast Club - Feedback Results

All Active Breakfast Club Members,

Thanks for your feedback. Here are the main points taken from your comments and suggestions:
Location, Day and Time: No changes here for the Breakfast Club as there was no negative feedback about La Madeleine's, meeting on Saturdays, or starting at 10:15 AM.

Holiday Break: Only two of us opted for a break so we will start Consciousness and Its Implications on December 20th.

Discussion Leaders: A big thanks to Jon, Bill M., Terry and Leonard for volunteering to lead some of the Consciousness and Its Implications lectures. When we work out the details of who will lead what lectures we'll let you know.

Orders: 1 transcript (Terry); 6 outlines (Mark, Leonard, Jon, Bill M., Keith & Steve). If anyone else would like a transcript or outline, please let me know no later than this Wednesday (12/10). I would like to place the orders earlier enough so you'll have them in time for our first Consciousness and Its Implications lecture.

Special Lectures: There was a lot of interest in the Great Minds of the Western Intellectual Tradition course but no study option surfaced as a clear group preference so I'm going to move forward with a middle-of-the-road approach. We'll start with the introductions to each of the seven parts of Great Minds; if further interest develops in any of the parts, we can delve deeper into that period. I'm thinking of meeting Tuesday or Thursday evenings once or twice a month at a different location each time;
for example: Terry's House, your house, The Spider House, Mother Eagan's, Opal Divine's, Bennigan's, Aussie Bar & Grill, a branch of the Austin Public Library, or your special place. As to this last option, consider these factors: a central Austin location; available private room or secluded space with an electrical outlet; noise level; food service. Let me know what schedule and locations work best for you.

Finally, there was some interest in Eastern philosophy so Terry is working on getting someone from the Buddhist community to address the group.

See you on Saturday,
Dave
