Philosophy Addicts Anonymous.

2nd Wednesday Meetup for those hardcore addicts of Philosophical dialogue. This is the smaller, bi-monthly get together to the main meeting at the end of the month.

Same Bat-Place and same Bat-Time. Now you only got to wait half the time (normally) to get that fix you so crave. This will be an open, informal get together where we can enjoy some philosophical conversation.

I enjoyed the topic of What makes something valuable/important? Thanks to Nicholas for the subject & leading the way.

As someone new to the group, is there a particular area of the cafe you meet or a way to recognize you? E.g. do you have signs or something? Also, I might not be able to make it until 7:30.

I am a new member. What topics are discussed at these particular meetups? What will be discussed on Sept. 10? What is the format? Is there a limit on the # of my questions? Thanks.

Hello Jerry, the format of our Second Wednesday Meeting is as follows.

We all introduce ourselves; we suggest topics with brevity in mind; we collectively vote for 2-4 topics everyone wants to discuss; we break-up into smaller groups around the topics voted; the people who suggest the topics will speak to what they had in mind philosophically to discuss; and from there it is a free flow of dialogue on that topic until 9 p.m.

Dan, thanks for the information. Iwill try to balance "brevity" with "free flow." See you then.
