To learn more about how people think.
Love to listen and engage in deep and meaningful discussions with interesting people.
In this group we'll read works from the Social Sciences and Philosophy, and discuss them in a spirit of inquiry.
Activities include open and general discussions, talks, and thematic exploration of specific topics.
Topics range from Ethics to the Theory of Knowledge in Philosophy; to works in Sociology, Psychology, History and Economics in the Social Sciences. The aim is to discuss works and ideas so as to have a better understanding of ourselves, our surroundings, other people, and what we want to know.
The idea is to have broad discussions that enrich the mind, or explore a theme comprehensively so as to gain satisfyingly what has been read with a community of people. All that is needed is an inquisitive and reasonable mind, and an openness and desire to develop one's capacity to think.
The works that we will discuss will come from Articles, Books, Websites, ranging from Anthologies and Journals, to Novels, Newspaper Articles, Blogs, Videos and Film. Eventually, we hope to invite lecturers, professors and experts in their field to give talks, to hold an ideas festival and to publish a newsletter.
Do join in if you're keen to know more, and start exploring!
