To discuss philosophical questions with others.
Gain interesting new insights on philosophical questions, and to further shape my own perspective.
In this group we'll read works from the Social Sciences and Philosophy and discuss them in a spirit of inquiry.
Activities include open and general discussions, talks, exploration of specific topics.
Subjects range from Ethics and the Theory of Knowledge in Philosophy, to works in Sociology, Psychology, and other subjects in the Social Sciences. The aim is to discuss different works and ideas so as to have a better understanding of ourselves, our surroundings, other people, and what we want to know.
The goal is to have broad discussions that enrich our minds, to hold in-depth explorations of a theme, and to discuss with a community of people. (See the group's goals here) All that is needed is an inquisitive and reasonable mind, and an openness and desire to develop one's capacity to think.
Sources of material that we will discuss will take the form of articles, books, anthologies, journals, newspapers, websites, novels, and include videos and films.
