Introduction

I would like to meet intelligent people who are also interested in philosophy and intellectual and cultural history and ideas for discussion and socializing.

How did you become interested in philosophy?

I've studied it since childhood and studied it in universities in the USA and Europe (Oxford)

What areas of philosophy interest you the most?

I'd single out classical philosophy, ethics, aesthetics, critical theory, political theory and philosophy, Marxism and the Marxist tradition, e.g., Gramsci, Lukacs, & philosophy of religion, & Eastern philosophies, and philosophies of art and music.

  • Robert, you were great. I was thinking that the one experience we would never have access to was the original sound of De Rerum's vaunted poetry in ancient Latin. If we had had the time, I would have loved to hear more.

  • enjoyed your input at last night's Hume's Morality lecture. It seems some participants were overwhelmed by your input and became somewhat defensive and adversarial. I hope you continue to attend the Philosophical meetings because you have so much to genuine information to impart to all. Hope to see you soon Robert and thanks again for your erudition.
