PSW#2337: Quantum Entanglement- Einstein’s Spooky Action at a Distance

Quantum mechanics predicts many effects that may seem impossible from our ordinary view of the world. One of these is the existence of entangled states of two distant particles. Recent experiments using pairs of photons (particles of light) separated by large distances have demonstrated the existence of these effects as predicted by quantum mechanics.

Sorry I missed this, are there handouts anywhere to be downloaded?

Sorry I missed this. Read a couple of popular books on the topic, one of the weirder QM predictions - very interesting. What did you all think of the presentation and discussion? Over your head? Hungering for more?

I went with a friend, and I loved it! Very interesting to me. Not at all over my head. And I am not a scientist. But I am an engineer by training and love science. Of course, the formulas were over my head but the speaker only flashed them on the screen, he didn't actually address them. I would love more like this. As far as directions, I suggest you state clearly that the JWP Aud. is in fact IN the Cosmos Club, but we access the aud. directly from the outside so we are not supposed to be going through the club itself. The door is on the far left from the parking area, which is at the back of the Club. Also suggest you clarify that going to the aud. does not mean we get valet parking from the club. - Kitty

Joel, did you press the button for them to buzz you in? If not, then we need to update the instructions.
