Building community can be a personal adventure. Who are the people who take the challenge? What motivates them? How did they choose a technology to use for their effort?
This session will feature a panel of people who have given voice to their passion to do good in the world. Our six panelists from five organizations are people who bring together like-minded souls for collaboration, resource sharing, and mutual support using the Internet to foster a community of people, local or global, who share a common interest in better communication for a worthy cause.
THE PANEL WILL CONSIST OF TWO IN-PERSON PANELISTS:
Alex Hillman - We Work In Philly - http://www.weworkinphilly.com/
Jim Wurster - Timebank Media - http://timebankmedia.org/
AND FOUR PANELISTS ON A LARGE SCREEN FROM THREE REMOTE LOCATIONS:
New York - Ami Dar - http://Idealist.org
San Francisco - Sonia Lub and Sergio Lub - Friendly Favors - http://www.favors.org/FF/
London - Helen Kemp - Just Got Made - http://www.justgotmade.com
I'll be your host for this event. I am looking forward to hearing both from the panelists and from YOU. Come prepared to let everyone know how building an Internet community can or has helped your cause and be ready to ask questions of our guests.
