Plans are coming together for a great meeting on June 3. Highlights include the following, with more detail below.
More details:
The June Meeting is sponsored by WomenMatter.com - Engaging Women in the Political Process
Good ideas, good people, good energy. Hope to see you there.
I was pleased to see a mix of return users (from the May meeting) and new faces; and both groups seemed to respond positively. It was also neat to see such a positive response to the "Pimp my Nonprofit" idea (of having a session where someone describes what their nonprofit is doing in this web2.0 space, and get feedback and advice from the group); and we can blend that into some future meetings.

I enjoyed the presentations. Larry Miller from the I Do Foundation both described and demo'd tips on effective process/meeting/work managment - and used a cool USB "remote" that allowed him to move through an innovative HTML/Firefox presentation (a Power Point alternative) and allowed Seth to control his presentation too.
Seth & Ivan brought back news of innovations they ran into at the Net Squared Conference In San Jose. Most interesting to me was metavid.ucsc.edu - which uses several data/meta-data innovations to provide a searchable archive of CSPAN clips - very cool.
Also www.knowmore.org is providing a FireFox extension that allows them to "cast" their product ratings onto company websites and into Google Search results. the implications, both good and bad, are food for thought
Look forward to next month

Another interesting meeting. I started to think about how to use the ideas and open source scripts that Seth demonstrated. I need to research about them first. The greenmaps was really cool.

Both subjects covered were very different, and both interesting. I also appreciated that future meetings were presented as open to different formats.

I was able to network with professionals in the non profit sector who utilize various software programs and social networking sites to connect with their constituents and promote their non profit's misson.
