I'm the co-organizer of NetSquared Philadelphia, part of a national NetSquared organization focusing on the intersection of social technology and social change. I am on the board of directors for the Peace and Justice Studies Association and the AFSC Nobel Peace Prize Committee. I am a professional handbell ringer and enthusiastic member of my local member-owned food cooperative. I am passionate about quirky art, good books, community empowerment, organizing for antiracism, radical praxis and meticulously gorgeous code.
The Genocide Intervention Network, which I co-founded and worked at for several years, used social networks (MySpace, Facebook, Livejournal, etc.) extensively to engage our members, give them tools to advocate for anti-genocide issues and raise money for civilian protection from genocidal violence.
Amnesty International's "Eyes on Darfur" campaign, combining satellite evidence of continuing genocidal violence with an advocacy campaign to get political leaders to take action. http://www.eyesondarfur.org/
I am the creative director of Rootwork.org, working with nonprofits and social change groups, developing websites and doing online strategy around advocacy, fundraising and member engagement.
