Net Tuesday Philly Meetup Message Board › GREAT projects & venue details for Net Tuesday (Crowdsourcing Change) February 2
Upper Darby, PA
Our three terrific projects (and venue) have been selected!
February's Net Tuesday will be held on February 2nd at the law offices of Buchanan, Ingersoll and Rooney, on the 32nd floor of 2 Liberty Place (50 S. 16th St.). Doors will open at 6:00, and we plan to start promptly at 6:30, so please try to be on time. Light fare will be provided.
“Crowdsourcing Change” will be a highly participatory event where attendees will have an opportunity to help three "Social Changers" who are using --or trying to use -- the social web for the common good. The way it will work is that presenters will first explain the change they are trying to achieve through social media. Attendees, with the help of a moderator, will then provide feedback, ideas, constructive criticism and concrete instructions to help the presenters succeed. This is a great opportunity to learn and to have an impact.
The three presenters will be:
You are encouraged to look at their project descriptions (and even to pose questions or comments ahead of time) posted on the PhillyNetSquared website. The more familiar people can be with the projects ahead of time, the better.
Who should attend?
So, come out for a fast-paced, interesting and impactful evening. Light food and refreshments will be available. If you're driving, one of the better deals is the Autopark on Arch St between 15th and 16th, entrance down ramp, costs $9.00. RSVP's strongly encouraged.
This month's event is sponsored by Mobile Citizen, which recently announced its Technology Assistance Grant program for Philadelphia nonprofits.
Mobile Broadband offers Clear mobile and broadband internet service at a reduced price to nonprofits in their Philadelphia coverage area. Their offer includes unlimited usage for $10/month per account for up to 25 accounts and no implementation costs. The deadline to apply is February 19, 2010.
Our venue is being generously hosted by the law firm of Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney.
