PostGres and the Genome

How CHOP is using PostGres to diagnose genetic disorders -- Jeffrey Pennington

CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) is using PostGres for a data warehouse that stores over 150 million genetic variations across a large population of research and clinical patients. This talk will introduce fundamentals of genome data management and the associated analysis use cases that drove CHOP to develop a data warehouse. Technical implementation details to be covered include logical and physical design and our ongoing tuning and scaling efforts.

Unfortunately I have to cancel for a family thing this evening. I'm very sorry to miss our speaker -- great topic -- and the usual networking!
