Nice meeting everyone! Sorry I couldn't make it to the bridge. Terrible headache and kiddos at home held me back. I hope to see some pics? Do we share somewhere like Google+, Facebook, etc? New to all this. Had a great time:)
Hi sue, thanks for coming out today, you can upload your images rt on the meetup site, just click on today's event and then on the photo button. Hi Tim, I'm going to be playing at church and we won't be done until about 10:15am. I would like to be a part of the outing. Perhaps you can let me know where you will be at, at 11:00? Let me know. Norm
Hi norm, we will probably be at the first abandoned house which is rt around the corner from the Starbucks. Just give me a call at[masked] when you get done and I will let you know exactly where we are.
I have a similar situation, being as it's Sunday. Will likely need to call you as well for location.
Sounds good john.
Sorry, have to bow out of this one: family gathering. Looking forward to new Phocus adventures next time!

Happy New Year every body ! Have we picked a place to meet before starting the safari ?
0 · January 20, 2014
Hi Carl, I'm thinking the Starbucks on Clinton kieth road, but I will post it this week.
Hello everyone, so far we have 4 locations for the urbex shoot. We have the abandoned house in menifee which will probably be our first stop, then I found 2 more houses one in wildomar and one in murrieta stops 2 and three and finally the old bridge on highway 76. If anyone has anything else that loosely follows this rout please let me know so I can add it to the schedule, and thank you to everyone who has posted locations for this shoot.

Found this link on the history of Santa's Village:
0 · December 31, 2013
This is from So Cal Photo Explorers of Orange about the abandoned Santa's Village up by Lake Arrowhead. Went up there as a kid to visit Santa and his reindeer. If I remember correctly, it was located on Mt. Wilson. It's a stretch driving-wise; would probably have to be a single site excursion:
Hi guys, I scouted 2 abandoned houses today, one in wildomar and one in murrieta, they both look like they have some potential, I wasn't able to stop, but I will try to post some pics soon.

Here's a link to it:
Abandoned Homes of Hellhole Canyon in Valley CenterDirections: Hellhole Canyon is located off of Paradise Mountain Rd. It appears that there are many different ways to get there but we entered from Calle de Encinas Ct.
There's supposedly easier ways to get there but I'm not too familiar with Valley Center. Anyway, there's pictures on this site of the abandoned homes.

This location looks great but doesn't sound too friendly to tripod-toting photographers based on what I read on that page. But also, after going to the home page of that link I was reminded about the abandoned L.A. Zoo. Another Meetup group did that a year or two ago, I was unable to go but it really looked cool. I'm not into going too far away (I prefer to spend time shooting not driving) but this place would be worth it. Just a suggestion. Check out images: http://bit.ly/18UDoqa
The abandoned L.A. Zoo looks to be real interesting. Wouldn't mind spending the day up there if we arrived early in the morning. We could make a day of L.A.
