I would like to find out who has the largest vehicle and try to caravan down. We can all pitch in for gas to save money.

I'll be posting. I quickly did two images, but not happy with them. And just haven't had time to get to this otherwise. But I hope to get to it this weekend.
I'll be working on mine this weekend.

Great Locations; more preparation on logistics would make future events even better (especially when they involve multiple locations). This was a fun day of photography.

Just to clarify, I understand we are meeting at Tidelands Park around 3pm and not the military-only "Breakers Beach" listed above. (And since the map link doesn't work).
Yes tidelands park at 3. The breakers beach was the only listing that meetup had in its database thats why i picked it. Sorry if that confused you.
the map i clicked on the main page for this event took me to miramar not north island ?

I'll be visiting a relative in Imperial Beach earlier in the day so I'll meet up with the group at Tidelands Park around 3pm. Email if there's any significant delay, I appreciate it.
I will be meeting you there as not quite sure how long I can stay. Where exactly are the tide pools So I can meet there at 3pm?
Hi Eddie, we are going to meet at tidelands park. if you go over the coronado bridge, it will be on your immediate right. See you their.
Hello everyone, just wanted to confirm the meeting time of 1:30pm at the roadhouse grill in temecula. Any one who lives in SD, we will meet you at Calumet around 2:15. If you have any questions feel free to call me @[masked]-3267. See you all then.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if you guys want to leave an hour earlier, 12:30 instaed of 1:30? This will give us a little more daylight. if everyone is ok with this then its a go, but if their is anyone who just cant get to the roadhouse that early, we will stick to 1:30. Please let me know.
I wanted to ask about the schedule. This is a long day, what are we shooting exactly? Are we staying in one location? Will we be parking at multiple spots or carrying tripod and gear around? A heads up on what to expect would be great. To answer the question, my vote is to keep the time as it is.
Well I just read a post below. So Coronado bridge (day?) and skyline at night. That about sum it up then?
Hey John, i want to start at tidelands, shoot some bridge and skyline shots, then head over to hotel de coronado. I would like to head to the sante fe train station from here, and end up in the city to shoot some long exposure HDRs. I am open to all sugestions. See you saturday.
Since I live in SD, if I can make it I will meet you there... but where is there? Where are we meeting by the bridge. Are we going on base or Glorietta Bay... where exactly?

Thought that I would throw this into the mix and see if anybody is up for it. Is anybody aware that the 13th is also the "Worldwide Photowalk day"? Scott Kelby and others do this yearly and it looks like a lot of fun. It's a chance to get your photos worldwide exposure. If you would like to really make it photo "day" we could meet in Coronado a bit earlier, as nobody in the "Worldwide Photo Walk Group" is shooting in Coronado as of yet and we could add our names to the group. So if anybody is interested, let me know.

Hi Norm, that would be really cool, it looks like the date to lead a walk was oct 1st, however there are two walks in san diego, the little italy walk is full, but the san diego zoo walk has 37 openings. I encourage everyone to get involved if you can. I will not have the time to squeeze that in. Thanks for the info Norm. I will see you on the 13th.
No problem Julie. Hopefully you can make it next month.

I'm not able to make it on the 13th, but hope to meet everyone at the next photoshoot. ~Julie
So, what's the story here? I'm not at all familiar with the area. What is the subject matter? The beach? Military equipment/facilities...? What are your recommendations on lenses, etc? I'm sure a tripod is required and possibly how to set up bracketing exposures and burst mode if desired.

Hi Andy, we are going to shoot the coronado bridge and the city at night, you will need to set your camera up to shoot bracketed exposures, i would also recomend a tripod and a wide angle to capture the whole scene. There is no specific subject matter so feel free to shoot what you want as long as its an HDR image. hope this helps.
That clears up several questions, thank you! If I can make it, I have an Xterra in which I can take three comfortably or four with three in the back so-so. It's not that tight in the back for such a short ride. I would rendezvous at Calumet, Escondido. Chipping in for gas would be a courteous gesture.
Hello everyone, i just wanted to thank all of you who came out for the first meetup. A couple of members have requested that we preview our images on a projector or moniter instead of printing them out, I am open to trying this out, however i think as photographers we need to know how to get good results out of a print. I also like looking at a hard copy every now and then it just has an organic feel that you cant get from a digital image. That bieng said, i think we should try out the projector and see how it goes, if anyone else has any feedback please let me know.
