It was great! I loved how Tim took the time to explain what he was doing and shared tips on posing and lighting and he was very helpful with any questions. The biggest thing that I took away from yesterdays shoot, was how Tim brilliantly posed the lovely model, Kate, framed between two large branches! I LOVED that creativity. Thanks Tim!!
Thanks Kathy, I'm glad you enjoyed the shoot. If you ever have any questions just post them here on the site and I will get back as soon as possible.

Thank you to all who came out yesterday, i thought the shoot went well, and thank you to everyone who helped with the lighting.
Where did you actually shoot? I drove around tenaja falls. What kind of lighting was needed? Any pics?
Hi chad, we were about a mile past the tanaha turn off, we shot mostly available light and used reflectors and diffusers. We got some great shots, check back in a day or two and I will post some images.
I was there and didnt see anybody... i was there at 12 noon exactly...

Thats ok, i hope to see you in march for the next meetup.
Really fun, great light, great weather.
No problem chad, you can join and meet us up at Santa Rosa plateau at 12 noon if you want to join us at the portrait shoot.

Hi Tim, would you be interested in having another model come to our shoot At Santa Rosa Plateau? With Only one model and 20 photographers it seems like it's going to be a bit hectic. Let me know.

1 · February 1, 2013
Did you mean the site itself or your divine photos?
0 · February 1, 2013
Really nice, Tim! :-)
Just checked it out. Looks great! I especially love the wedding shoot of Jen and Ryan. You can just feel the emotion.

I just love the portraits of the children!

Beautiful photography work Tim. You have a very attractive photography style. I like the fact that you aren't afraid to convert to monochrome on many of your shots.

thank you andy.
Looking forward to my very first introduction of Photography!:)

Hi Susie, I am looking forward to meeting you on the 16th. Make sure you bring all your gear, including your flash if you have one.

Hi cindra, we would probably just shoot our subject In the studio and then shoot the backgrounds on our own.
The composite project looks like fun. Would we shoot everything the same day?
Hello everyone, i was thinking about doing a composite project for our next shoot in april. Joel grimes really inspired me. we would be shooting our subject in the studio and then shooting our background as an HDR then combining them in photoshop. Do me a favor and watch the joel grimes vidoes on kelby training and let me know if it is something you guys would be interested in.

Hi everyone, i want to get some of your ideas for the april photoshoot. please let me know what you guys want to shoot.
0 · January 30, 2013
Hi Ginny, we will be driving, it is a couple miles away.
0 · January 28, 2013
How are we getting from the car park to Tanaja? Walking or driving?
Yes, I did talk to the ranger and thier is to much red tape to shoot on the actual platue, however we are going to shoot in tanaha area, just a couple miles up the road. I would recommend bringing all your gear, and a flash or two if you have them. I do have 2 canon speedlights that I am willing to share, but it will go faster if people bring their own, as we have 16 photographers as of today and one model. I am working on getting a second model. Also remember to bring the $10 for the model and $3 to get into tanaha.
0 · January 25, 2013
Tim, Did anyone call the ranger again to confirm group photo shoot and can you make suggestions for equipment to bring?
Hi Tory, that's a bummer that you got rained out. I hope you guys can make it to the portrait shoot. Take care.
Been busy with taxes! Blah. Hope to make this shoot and the next critique though. We went to Salton after you guys but were rained out. Haha. Was hoping to get photos to add to the meeting. ;) Oh well, just means an excuse for another trip!
Ginny the adress you found seems to be on the right side of the rd, the visiter center is on the left. if you are heading up clinton kieth toward la cresta it is the first left after the first stop sign.

Sorry, but as I am new to the area and to the USA I need a bit more details about where to meet. Do you mean the car park at 39400 Clinton Keith Road? Sorry
Family emergency. ....

Hello everyone, I went up to tanaha and it looks nice up their, you can see the big bear mountains if you get high enough. There are plenty of open fields and oak trees, I think if we get creative we can get some nice shots. Lets meet at the visitor center at 11:30.
0 · January 19, 2013
Depending on location decision if that's ok
0 · January 18, 2013
Hi Sally, yes the model will sign a release form.
0 · January 9, 2013
Great, I will try my best and make it, still owe you the dues...
Yes, the model fee is fine but will the model sign a release form in case we want to use the images for stock work?
it is very nice this time of year, we will be shooting in tanaha area, i still need to go up and scout the area.
0 · January 7, 2013
I was there on Friday, beautiful place. Some rangers saw me with my camera and gave me no trouble.
I attended a group shoot at Santa Rosa Plateau awhile back, with no problems. $10.00 for a model is fair. I don't work for free as a photographer and you shouldn't either. It just devalues our craft. I do agree that more than one model would be nice. And yes I would be willing to pay an additional $10.00.
0 · December 29, 2012
I called Santa Rosa Plateau. We might need a permit, but the ranger was not available to give the details.
0 · December 21, 2012
I was thinking back behind the vernal pools, have you been kicked out back their?
