HIKE- Dreamy Draw (Mineshaft Route)

Between the rains, I hope we have time for this moderate loop around dreamy draw’s southern valley with stops at ruins of mercury mineshafts of the early twentieth century. The trip will cover about 4 miles with a couple 350 ft. elevation changes.

Our hikes are generally at a pace conducive to social banter of interest to heathens, and allowing for time for photography of the local geology and wildlife. Expect this hike to last about 3 hours.

For the asking, I will have handouts discussing geology of the area, and plant and animals we’ll likely encounter. Also I bring reference books for after the hike.

Had fun today. Might have even talked my buddy into a hike she was sure she wasn't going on. ;)

It was a longer and wetter hike than expected, but we had a great time exploring and getting rained on. :-)

What a great hike, cloudy and a bit drizzly, but just perfect for wandering around the peaks.

Countdown in progress . . . stay tuned for the latest news on the launch's liftoff status (or not).

This has had all the drama of a Space Shuttle launch trying to beat the closing of a window in the weather. :-) Hopefully, we won't just get (to) the (mine)shaft and have the weather start soaking us. That would dampen our spirits (and Al's beer, too). No joke.

as of 7 pm hike is still on

I'd like to start earlier to minimize chances of rain

but I'd need to hear from more of you to actually change the start time

if we do not start early we will definitely start right on time

as of 5 pm I am assuming we will hike... however we may start earlier

keep watching these comments for any changes or cancellation

as of Saturday 3pm, I am still assuming we may be able to hike tomorrow.

Hourly forecasts suggest only clouds til about 10 am and then 30% chance of showers the rest of day.

so I'm hoping for a delay of the next cell to arrive so maybe we can hike

I'll keep watching forecasts to see if they change and post changes here and by email.
