This loop hikeconsists of the View Point, 105A, and North Mingus Trails, atop Mingus Mountain, in central Arizona's Black Hills. Awesome views of the Verde Valley, with the town of Cottonwood and Sedona in the distance and a wide variety of plant life on this hike provide an enjoyable outdoor experience.

To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take I-17 North to
Hwy 69 (Prescott exit 262)
and go approx. 21.5 miles
and turn right onto Fain Rd.
Go approx. 7.2 miles on Fain Rd to Hwy 89A
and turn right (east).
Take this Hwy less than 12 miles to FR104 (on the right).
At the summit of Mingus Mountain,
turn right on the signed junction for the Methodist Camp (FR104).
There will be a brown sign for the Mingus Mountain Campground and you'll see a parking lot (and a small park) just to the left after turning onto FR104.
Take the well graded dirt road FR104 for 2.5 miles into the Mingus Mountain campground.
At the first stop sign, go straight and park at the trailhead.
