Fall colors, wildflowers, creek side wildlife, abundant desert vegetation, remnants of early mining and ranching, petroglyphs along the lush riparian areas of the actual Cave Creek.

Our hikes are generally at a pace conducive to social banter of interest to heathens, and allowing for time for photography of the local geology and wildlife. Expect this hike to last 3-4 hours, TBD.

You can follow our route using this trail map:

http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/spur_cross/pdf/2009_maps/spur-cross-8x11.pdf

We will park at “P” and then from the “Kiosk” we will follow the “ SX” trail north-north
east to it’s intersection with “FS48” and follow it to the “Corral”. From the corral
we will optionally do the 2.2 mile loop part of which can be seen directly
north of the coral on the map After returning to the coral we will follow “FS48”
again back to it’s intersection with “MT” which we will follow back to the
kiosk.
