Kayak the Verde River.

August 30th · 9:00 AM
very mild stretch of river. about 3 1/2 hours. Kaleb of Verde Valley Kayak Rentals will go over the basics of kayaking a river, how to read a river, etc. the river is finally starting to pick up. still under 100, but this section always has enough water to float.
meet at Bignotti beach. 260 just east of Cottonwood, head North on Thousand Trails Rd. take the first Left on the dirt road and follow it to the end. there's a sign on thousand trails saying Bignotti Beach this way 1.5 miles. from there we will leave most vehicles and head to the 89A. i can now haul 5 people and plenty of boats in my truck. feel free to call me at nine two eight GOT-FISH
advanced paddlers are welcome. any help would be appreciated :) Kayak rentals are only $20 per kayak. Bring your own kayak if you want.

Update

UPDATE: let's meet at the big dirt lot right at thousand trails and hwy 260. load all the boats on select vehicles, then run the drivers down to Bignotti Beach. last time we did this the parking lot was so jammed at bignotti, and i think that with this bigger group we may not be able to move at bignotti beach if we have all the vehicles down there at once.

Too many kayaks and not deep enough water. But a great bunch of folks and a fantastic day! Thanks everyone! See you all again soon.

Hi Joe, I'm a new member, but have my own Advanced Frame kayak. I'm experienced, but have never done the Verde. I only have a Miata and am wondering about the chance to grab a shuttle ride for the 30th if I go. What do you think?

Last time we drove to the beach, loaded all the kayaks onto to or three vehicles that then drove everyone to the launch point. When we reached the takeout our cars were there. A few people drove the drivers of the trucks back to the launch point to retrieve their vehicles.

It'll be the same method this time, but instead of going all the way to the beach, Kaleb wants us to meet at the following place at 9:a.m.

I did this trip a few weeks ago. The river is low, but it's a nice cool way to spend 3 or 4 hours. Bring drinks and food if you want.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
