Hike Papago Park and watch the sunset from Hole in the Rock

This hike is rated EASY.

Come join me and have some fun at Papago. We will hike the double butte trail along with climbing around and on the buttes. It is up to you how much you want to climb. My dogs love this hike. You're encouraged to bring a camera and must bring at least 2 liters of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear.

Bring a snack and we'll watch sunset from Hole In The Rock.

This hike is cross posted with TrailMix. Please only sign up on one, it is less confusing for me ;)

DISTANCE: 3 miles roundtrip
ELEVATION GAIN: 250 ft
DURATION: 2 1/2 hours
DOGS: Yes, if leashed.
FACILITIES: Bathrooms
WEBSITE: Trailmap

DIRECTIONS: Folllow the google map link above. If coming from 202 to Priest to Gavin Parkway, turn left at light (NOT towards the zoo which requires a right turn at this light). immediately turn right to the first ramada. This can be confusing, please feel free to call or text if you have trouble finding me.

Katie, dogs are welcome and are not considered guests when you RSVP. We just ask that they behave with other dogs, are on a leash at all times and their human cleans up after them. I'll be bringing one of mine also.

This will be my first hike with you all and I want to bring my dog. Are dogs considered guests? I'm guessing probably not so I didn't add anyone :)

My wife and I would like to because it is a short hike and not too hard, but today I got dizzy working in the yard and need to rest and see what happens. Thanks anyway! Bill and Donna

As long as you think they can hike 3 miles, yes. It's up to you whether to climb the buttes.
