Easy Hike - Lonnie Loop from the Visitor Center

This hike is rated EASY, however, the trail is rocky so I recommend wearing sturdy footwear.

Come out for a hike from the 7th Street entrance to North Mountain Park. This is an easy hike and perfect for beginners or if you'd just like to do an easy one for a change. The trails are relatively flat with some gentle ups and downs, and one short but steep hill. We'll take the #100 trail from the 7th Street parking lot to the #306 trail then back to the #100 in a big loop. Bring a flashlight or headlamp, part of the hike will be after dark. You're encouraged to bring snacks, cameras, and must bring at least 1+ liter of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear.

This is a combined event with Trail Mix, we will be hiking at a moderate pace.

DISTANCE: 3.5 miles round trip
ELEVATION GAIN: 100 ft
DURATION: 1.5 hours
TRAIL STYLE: Big loop
DOGS: Yes, if leashed.
FACILITIES: Drinking Fountain and Restrooms

Full moon was amazing and breeze was kinda refreshing...still worked up a sweat since pace was quick. A shout out to the hiking dogs who were amazing since they hike that rocky trail with bare feet!

Are there snakes or any other animals to worry about especially in the dark?

I think I will bring him, he doesn't do well with other dogs. If there are any others there we will just turn around & go home.
