Garden of Tomorrow - Community Garden Volunteer Help Needed

Enjoy FREE lunch, light gardening and support one of our biggerst partners, Tiger Mountain Foundation.  I am very excited to say this will be a regular monthly event for us now! Tiger Mountain Foundation works with establishing and nourishing various community garden projects in disadvantaged neighborhoods in the Phoenix metro area. We will be working in the community garden. This event will also feature local designers, artists and talent from intergenerational, multi-cultural mix of community supporters. This is a phenomenal morning of experiencing what community is all about! Those that participated have all impressed with the project and time we spent there.

Volunteers and members of the community gather to work on this project, including a great group of seniors from the apartments next door. You are educated as to the significance of how a community garden can impact the community and fight the cycle of violence in our community. We then work in the garden for about an hour and a half and then there is a community cookout and entertainment going on when we are done. The food for the cookout is excellent! How can you beat vegetables that are cooked right after being picked?!

We are encouraging people to bring their own refillable water bottle.

Plan on being there from 8:15 am to around 11:00 am. There is no age limit for this event! Bring your kids! They will provide shovels and rakes for the volunteers to use. Please feel free to bring old gardening supplies (shovels, rakes, etc.) that you can donate to this organization, as they can always use more. They are also in need of folding chairs and lawn chairs.

This is what a couple of our members had to say about this project:

"With much spirit, love, and humor :), Darren did an awesome job coordinating this volunteer effort. Garden of Hope sets a prime example of what can be done when people live with heart and put effort into creating something beautiful...."

"I had a great time working with the people at the Garden of Tomorrow. They put us to work and I felt like my time was well spent. I'll be going back for sure."

    Hello All,

I look forward to facilitating this event for you yet again! Despite the heat, you will have a beautiful time. Some reminders:

Please complete a liability release form at if you have yet to do so.

Remember your electrolytes and minerals as well as cool water and sun screen. A large brimmed hat makes so much difference, as well!

I have several shovels and pairs of gloves, but encourage you to bring your own and/or contribute some if possible.

While there are restrooms open to the public nearby to clean off, I recommend you bring wipes to refresh dirty hands and faces just in case.

**Please call or text me at[masked] for questions, concerns, or cancellations within 24 hrs. prior of any gardening event!
