Going Orange at The Bank!
September is Hunger Action Month, and the Phoenix Philanthropists are Rockin' n' Boxin' the night orange at St. Mary's, the world's premiere and model food bank! Please join us for an amazing night of food, music, and making a difference, as we Rock n' Box in orange for those most in need, while helping to raise awareness of the serious issues of hunger in our community. Delicious food and drinks will be served before the packing begins. Then when the music starts, and the groove kicks in, as many as 150 orange-clad volunteers will come together and begin sorting food and packing much-needed Emergency Food Boxes (EFBs) to meet the immediate needs of those is crisis.
But that's not all! On this special night, it is believed that with everyone demonstrating their support for St. Mary's and Hunger Action Month in orange, it will begin to get a little Suns-y inside the bank, so it's recommended that you wear just a pinch of purple with that orange to make a certain Gorilla feel at home, and not go completely bananas!
So come on out for a truly fun & exciting night of making a difference, with St. Mary's and The Gorilla!
And don't forget to bring your non-perishable food donations!
Please wear comfortable ORANGE (Suns apparel encouraged) clothing (no sleeveless shirts, tanks, spaghetti straps, exposed midriffs, or short shorts) for a non-temperature controlled warehouse environment, and closed-toed shoes.
The minimum age to volunteer for this event is 12-years-old, in the accompaniment of a parent or guardian. This is a wonderful project for kids to learn the importance of helping those in need.
