Please join the Phoenix Philanthropists for this very fun and exciting family-friendly event at Feed My Starving Children. With great music playing, in a very energized environment, we will be creating meals, called "Manna Pack Rice," which are distributed throughout the world to restore the health of children in the most severe state of malnutrition. In just an hour and a half, filled with great fun, you will truly help make a life-saving difference!
PHOENIX PHILANTHROPISTS RELEASE FORM
If you have not already, please complete the online Phoenix Philanthropists Release Form. A form should also be completed by any adult guests of members; and for each participating child under 18, by their parent or legal guardian. This form only needs to be completed one time, not for each event, but if you are unsure whether you may have submitted one already, please complete the form now. (Though the instructions on this form still say to print it, that is not necessary as the form is now fully-automated.)
AGE GUIDELINES: The minimum age to volunteer at FMSC is 5 years old. Please follow the student-to-adult ratios when registering to volunteer.
Grade 10-12: 5 students to 1 adult
Grade 7-9: 4 students to 1 adult
Grade 3-6: 3 students to 1 adult
Grade K-2: 1 student to 1 adult
ATTIRE: Wear comfortable clothing, and, for your safety, please wear closed-toed shoes. Due to FDA requirements, volunteers will need to remove all jewelry, including earrings, watches, rings, necklaces, pins, brooches, etc. FMSC will provide hairnets.
LOCATION: 7965 S Priest Dr, Ste 106, Tempe. You will find FMSC south of Elliot, directly across Priest from Dos Gringos, in its own suite on the front (Priest) side of the Oasys building. So look for the big Oasys sign, and park right out front. Then look for "Feed My Starving Children" on the door, and come on in!
CHECK-IN: When you arrive, please sign in at the FMSC computers by the entrance doors, then be sure to check in with the Phoenix Philanthropists, and get a name tag. (Note: Please return name tags at the end of the event, so we may reuse then.)
BRINGING A GUEST? If you have RSVP'd to bring a guest(s), please add their name(s) in a comment on this page. This way, we can make a name tag for them.
GROUP PHOTO/NAME TAG RETURN: At the end of the session, before leaving the packing room, and while still donning your beautiful hairnet, please join us for just a moment near the packing room exit doors for a Hairnet Heroes group photo, and to return the reusable name tags.
ATTENDANCE: If, after signing up for this event, you are are no longer able to attend, PLEASE update your RSVP ASAP. This allows other volunteers the opportunity to participate and most importantly allows us to keep our commitments to best assist FMSC. Please see PP's Attendance Policy below.
Phoenix Philanthropists Attendance Policy: We understand that plans change and emergencies come up. If you RSVP YES but can no longer attend, PLEASE change your RSVP ASAP. Our charity partners rely on us to attend when we say we will and our attendance policy is intended to ensure we can meet our charity partners' expectations. Please give as much prior notice as possible, but at a minimum of 2 hours notice for this event before canceling. No Call/No Shows will be recorded, and after 3 No Call No Shows/month or 6 No Call No Shows/year, you will be removed from the Phoenix Philanthropists Meetup. Please understand this policy is not intended to penalize our philanthropists, but to ensure we maintain good relationships with our charity partners and can give the most back to our community.
