IMPORTANT! Attendance

Hi Everyone!

I want to thank those that came to help out this morning for our citrus gleaning project!  You all worked very hard to get as much done as possible and I greatly appreciate it!

We did have a number of no-shows and cancelations over the last day or so.  We were at 25-27 people two days ago and St. Mary's scheduled a property for us based on 20+ volunteers.  Only 9 people showed up today and that is extremely disappointing! We had 19 signed up as of this morning. St. Mary's Citrus Gleaning Coordinator was at the event today, so it was embarrassing to be that short of what I told her we would have.

Due to this, the homeowner had to set up another date for us to come and complete the project on a weekend we normally wouldn't be scheduled and St. Mary's needed to coordinate the rescheduling for February 12th.  Had we an additional 6+ people today that didn't show up we could have finished the property today.

Attendance and being responsibly committed is critical for our events as we have other people and organizations relying on us.

Unfortunately, every so often I have to send out an email like this and I do not enjoy doing so.  I don't like letting down the organizations we support and when we promise to deliver, it is my responsibility to deliver, so I rely on the commitment our members make when they RSVP for a project.

As always, I understand that emergencies and things do come up.  A courtesy call, comment on the event page or email is greatly appreciated as much in advance as possible.

Please check our calendar for Citrus Gleaning projects on February 5th and the 12th. The more people we have for these, the better!

Thanks for all you do!
