The purpose of this group is to bring together fans of indie music so that we can discover new tunes, watch bands, and meet other like-minded folk. The group started in May of 2008 and lots of friendships have been made.
If there's a local show you'd like to see, and no one to go with, bring it up and we'll put it on the calendar. No need to drag reluctant friends or going by yourself (or, worse yet, missing a show because you don't want to go by yourself).
This group is primarily interested in indie rock, shoegaze, neo folk, hip hop, noise pop, math rock, folktronica, alt-country, dance rock, freak folk, dream pop, lo-fi, Britpop, emo, glam rock, garage, rockabilly, gypsy punk, new wave, post-punk, experimental, prog-rock, riot Grrrrl, space rock, twee pop, and just good ol' fashioned rock n' roll. If you understood any of that, then you probably belong here.
The group also has a monthly CD Exchange where we get together informally to swap music (often under a certain theme). It has been a great source of new music and we always have a great turnout -- not to mention that we always have lots of fun.
