Skeptic Game Show Night w/ Steve Novella

Skeptics -

We are excited to announce a special event with a very special guest: Dr Steven Novella, host of the Skeptics' Guide to the Universe podcast, author of the NeuroLogica blog, and many, many other amazing things. Steve is one of the pillars of the modern skeptic movement, and we are truly lucky to have him. This being his second visit we decided to get creative.

The agenda is as follows. Stage one is a live game show where audience members enter to compete while interacting with the special guests in a skeptic-/science-/nerd-themed trivia game. Stage two is a social gathering where we all mix and mingle. We are taking over the upstairs floor of one of our favorite spots: Boulders on Broadway in Tempe.

If you miss any skeptic event, make it not this one. It is going to be a blast!

Fantastic! Only (almost insignificant) constructive criticism: microphones/PA system - it was a little tough to hear the panel at times. But if you were listening, you could hear the important stuff :-)

So my (10 yo) son often listens to SGU with me and would like to see Steven too, and since my sitter is out of town I wondered if it would be completely inappropriate if I brought him along with me tonight?

I can't guarantee clean language...it's totally up to you. I don't think anything will scar him for life.

As if you needed another reason to come, we just added to the ticket Jeff Moriarty (@jmoriarty on Twitter and /jeffmoriarty on FB)! He's a publishing and social media expert currently working for Fox 10. We are all in for a treat!

Is this the same restaurant where we did supper after SkeptiCamp a couple of years ago?

    November 14, 2013

    • Jim L.

      Yes, after SkeptiCamp Phoenix 2009.

Just heard about this event on the SGU podcast and thereby heard of this meetup group. Looking forward to meeting you all and re-meeting those (like Evo) I already know.
