Evolution of Comedy Tour at Stand Up Scottsdale

Skeptics -

Join other lovers of reason for live stand-up comedy featuring three performers of the rationalist mindset. The show is titled "The Evolution of Comedy Tour." According to the tour's website:

"... No topic is safe. No belief system is left unchecked! Religion, politics, commonly held beliefs of all kinds will be picked apart and comedically skewered. If you are a skeptic, a rationalist, a secular humanist, a science lover or just a person who loves smart comedy this show was made for you and you will not see anything else like it. The closing bit alone will be worth the price of admission!"

The show starts at 8pm but the doors open at 7, so come early and hang out for an hour. For more information about the tour and to buy tickets, see http://theevolutionofcomedy.com and http://standupscottsdale.com/.

A skeptic is one who prefers beliefs and conclusions that are reliable and valid to ones that are comforting or convenient, and therefore rigorously and openly applies the methods of science and reason to all empirical claims, especially their own. A skeptic provisionally proportions acceptance of any claim to valid logic and a fair and thorough assessment of available evidence, and studies the pitfalls of human reason and the mechanisms of deception so as to avoid being deceived by others or themselves. Skepticism values method over any particular conclusion. - Dr. Steven Novella

Hey Folks. Thanks again for your support. Sorry bout any confusion between, us, the club and the online ticketing company. Normally everything runs fairly smoothly. BTW, the ticketing company has the wrong address and we are not sure why it has not been changed, despite our efforts. Because of this it is even wrong on our website, as it is a function of the ticketing. So sorry for any confusion. The address to the club is 6820 East 5th Avenue
    Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

BTW, if you have not purchased tickets in advance, no worries...
doing so at the door will not be a problem. The room is quite large, we will have tickets available!

The artists are also apparently selling tickets at http://theevolutionofcomedy.com/show.cfm?id=186089 and as far as I know this is a valid way to reserve a place.

Once again, I apologize. The venue does not make this obvious or easy.

Matt, I'm a little confused about the ticketing/reserving instructions. You say "can't buy tickets on line, just reserve." But, they are selling tickets at http://standupscottsdale.com/the-evolution-of-comedy-tour-arrives-to-the-valley-of-the-sun/. Can you clarify, so folks don't show up, to find out on arrival that the show is "sold out"? (For my part, I just now bought a ticket, but didn't "reserve" a spot.)

I'm confused as well. I made an email reservation. Do I buy tickets anyway? How do I get my reserved tickets? The email reply I got was extremely terse.

The place will be packed with skeptics and atheists, so I wouldn't worry too much about who you sit with. If you're going solo you will be hanging with friends!

The event is on their calendar, but you can't buy tickets online. You reserve a space via the link above.

    Barb: You are correct.

I can't find this event on the Standup web page. Anyone else having trouble?

I assume everyone is "on their own" for tickets?
