Thanks guys, it was entertaining, I appreciate your time and patience! Sorry I couldn't stay ... who won?

The Germans won. The StuGs won initiative in their first confrontation with Shermans - 2 vs 2 - and quickly evened the armor odds. The Americans then got a 2 vs 1 that only damaged one of the StuGs, then it was 3 (one damaged) to 2 in the next duel. A second StuG was damaged, but the Shermans got suppressed etc. Meanwhile, a panzerschreck took out the last Sherman on the other side of the field.

Fun game of Panzer. The Americans performed solidly, but could not overcome the German defense.
I have designed a scenario for this meeting, using the new Expansion 3 of Panzer, which gives us the Americans. It will be a team of Nathan and Scott as the Americans vs me as the Germans. They get a US armored division attacking force (with some armored cavalry recon), vs my German infantry division defenders, in Normandy-like hedgerow country. I've sent Nathan the details...

So we will be playing GMT's Panzer, 2nd edition. The 3rd expansion just arrived, which has the Americans and British, so we might try something using those. The base scenarios in the game are a bit simple, so I might design our own with a bit more going on...

sounds great :)
Scott, nice to have you. Do you have a preferred game for the 27th or would you like me to suggest one out of my collection? Also, from your RSVP I assume July 27th is the first date you can make it - is that correct?

Hey Jason, yes, I believe the 27th is my first opportunity to attend. I gravitate toward WW2, but have no preference as to game - you're choice. Remember I am new.

Cool. Since you say you are interested in micro armor, I will suggest GMT's game Panzer as a starting point. It doesn't need minis but could be played with them - it is a tactical game with single tanks or guns, infantry teams or squads etc. Plays pretty fast, too. I can teach it, own it, etc.
Here is a link to Panzer's page on Board Game Geek, for background.
sounds like a plan!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
