Casual Indifference: Photographs by Sharon Freed at the Hanover Theatre
Casual Indifference, an exhibition of photographs by Sharon Freed, will open onWednesday, September 25th, in the Hanover Theatre’s Franklin Square Lounge Gallery (2 Southbridge Street). The artist's reception will take place that evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. It is open and free to the public.
The images in Casual Indifference were taken during an Earth Day clean-up, during which Freed found herself imagining how important these now-discarded objects once were to their owners. The objects depicted were, as she puts it, “a large part of every-day life,” and the photographs provoke curiosity about their origins and how they came to be abandoned. They fit into Freed’s overall project of “exposing what seems commonplace and making it extraordinary.”
After the opening, this gallery is open by appointment (please call
[masked] to arrange one).
The exhibition will run through January, 2014.
