Let There Be Light: Jurying is Done

From: Donna D.

Good Morning All,

After Much deliberation, debate, and discussion we have narrowed it down to the final 25 images for the Let There Be Light exhibition at the City Hall Gallery. I have to say this was the most difficult jurying process yet and it was very very difficult to narrow it down to these 25 images. There were so many amazing pieces submitted. It got narrowed down by thinking through the Let There Be Light theme, and of course they do love there Worcester imagery. Others Just overwhelmed us with beauty. So congrats to those that are in and please please keep submitting images to these events even if your was not included in this round. Your talent is stunning.

So some details for all of you...

The Festival of Lights event is taking place on the Worcester Common on November 30th. These works will be included in on the map of the events and the exhibit information will be inserted into the program for the event to encourage audience members to take a self-guided walking tour of the “Let There Be Light” exhibit in the City Hall Gallery. That means there will be an opening event hosted by us the evening of Nov 30th. There will be a tree lighting on the common and they will be opening the ice rink. Its going to be a very big event and I hope all of you will be able to join us for the festivities.

Some details for the photographers with images included in the show...

Congrats on having your image selected! Cheers to you. Now you must make a print of your image, get it matted (WHITE Matts ONLY, please) and it must fit into our 16x24 frames. That is correct 16x24 inches!!

We will meet at the Worcester Public Main Library on Nov 10th from 10-12 to frame these images. Please bring your matted print, a pencil to sign your mat and a flat head screw driver. This is a framing party and you will learn to frame you own pieces. We will of course be there to hep you... I will need you provide a title to your image that I can put on the labels. We do not like "Untitled" so please be creative. You will need to tell me if your image is for sale and how much.
