A good place in the bay to rent lenses is: http://www.borrowlens...
I have met the owners and actually sold them a high dollar lens and the transaction went smooth. I post on a local message forum here in the bay www.soocool.com and several of the members there have done business with them as well.

Thanks for posting this! I am on the "waiting" list for when they get the Nikon 200-400 2.8 lens in.....I can't afford to purchase it but can't wait to try it out when they get it in!

Hi there...

Maybe this meetup could start a shared del.icio.us account? That way all these great links would be in one place.

Just a thought...and no, I don't work for them. ;)

During the photoshoot today, a number of people mentioned great sites for renting lenses, equipment, printing.. etc..etc.. or future places to visit.

How about if you have a suggestion, to post it here! (Dawn made a mental note to try to remember to bring a PDA for next time)

Dawn, around Sacramento, a place far, far away from San Jose, there is a place I have rented from and am sonta happy with. It is http://www.photosourc.... Apparently they also do prints, etc.

Thanks for posting about soocool.com I'm gonna check it out :D

I also want to mention that my brother rented from there and was very happy with the service. I looked recently, and to my surprise there is a San Jose pickup location, see here for details:

I've used BorrowLens and have been pretty happy with them. The prices are reasonable and there's a couple of locations you can go to to pickup/return equipment.
