DETAILS: Jeffery Jay Luhn, a commercial photographer for 40 years, will speak about how he got started as a pro shooter and how today’s photographers can get into the business as a weekend warrior or full time professional.
Jeffery will be projecting images from his international work with numerous clients including United Press International, Anne Klein, Apple Computer and many others. BIO of Jeffery Luhn: Jeffery began as a commercial photographer in 1969 while still attending Hayward High. He worked as an assistant for numerous local studios, wedding photographers and a ‘cub reporter’ for the Daily Review. His work has appeared in the New Yorker, Time, National Geographic, Der Spiegel and many other publications. His formal education includes two photography degrees from Brooks Institute and Associate Arts degrees from Laney College and Chabot College.
Jeffery has shot assignments for dozens of Fortune 500 corporations in 30 countries. He has also owned and operated studios in Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco and Santa Cruz. He currently concentrates on mentoring career-bound photographers and self-taught professionals through his workshops and classes.
As always there is no charge to attend this event. Instead, a suggested donation of $1.00 (less than the obligatory cup of coffee at the usual venues) is requested at the sign-in table to help with the cost of maintaining this site.
