Tell us about your background in photography. How did you get started, and how long have you been into it?

I've been taking photos before I started elementary school - my uncle owned a portrait studio. I learned to love photos from a young age, and I learned to take them as I got older.

What type of photography do you enjoy the most? People, landscapes, animals, fine art?

I would love to take Jay Maisel's workshop someday. I've noticed over the years that it's easy to find a critic of your photos, but it's very rare to find a person who can see the photo before taking it. Listening to Jay's talks and hearing from people who've taken his class, I think it would be an amazing experience. Plus, it's always fun to shoot photos in NYC.

What kind of gear do you use? Do you still use film or are you all digital?

I use Canon SLRs primarily because it's a habit - I've just gotten used to it. I really enjoy using strobes and speedlights, especially outdoors with gels.

I am primarily a studio portrait photographer. For personal work, I enjoy shooting street portraits and fashion.
