Meeting Description: Hey shooters,

It's time for another completely mad social outing for our group. Feel free to bring your portfolio, questions about photography, and a friendly smile. We don't have an agenda for this meeting. It's just a social mishmash of photographers gone wild (no nudity please, except in photos).


Testing a new activity: Double-blind crits

I would like 8 volunteers who would be interested in doing a sample crit (critique) with me. I would like to start doing a monthly crit for our group, and would like to do a sample run this time. This crit will be double-blind; you will not know whose photo it is, and you can provide anonymous feedback to the photographer through written slips of paper. I will explain more about the crit itself when we meet and go through the guidelines.

Please note that this will be an aesthetic crit. This means that everyone will be looking at your image for aesthetic reasons only, not if your image is commercially viable. This means that people may comment on your use of colour, composition, etc, and may provide their personal reaction to your image. Be prepared for positive feedback as well as constructive criticism.

To participate in the sample crit with me at this meeting, please bring one print that you would like to be critiqued. It can be any size from 4x6 or bigger; please do not bring anything smaller than 4x6 as it may be too small for people to see. It can be any subject or style that you like. Also, please bring a writing utensil. I will provide the slips of paper for your comments. Afterwards, I would like to get some feedback from everyone in the group on how it went.

If you want to participate in the sample crit, please leave a comment when you reply. This exercise will start at 730pm. If you would like to participate and cannot make it at 730, please note this in your comment.
