Larry

I haven't made it out to any of the meet-ups quite yet,  work always getting in the way, but I live right there off Coyote Rd and have shot in the area quite a bit. You ever trek out into the abandoned orchard down Coyote Rd? I always take my dogs out walking there and there is a lot of fun stuff to shoot, cranes, occasional foxes, tons of ground squirrels, even some homeless living out there.

I did a model shoot out there at night a couple months ago, you can check it out on my flickr account.

I also found this DIY tutorial on making a Ring Flash pretty interesting, I am going to give it a shot when I get the time.

I had a great time meeting and chatting with people at the meetup last

I'd like to toss out a theme for a get together some time:
Low budget gear tricks.

Richard was talking about using foam core and car sunshades as
reflectors.

I make flash diffusers out of plastic bottles and a bit of foam:

And made a "big dumb tripod" base out of plumbing and a bit of
aluminum that I drilled and tapped:

I'd love to see more do it yourself, or inexpensive, gear that works
about as well as the expensive stuff.

By the way, I work down by Blossom Hill and 101 (next to Coyote Creek
Park), would anybody else be interested in getting together for lunch
and a bit of shooting sometime?
