Kind of near Anderson, but in San Jose, Just go north on 101 from Morgan Hill, Exit for HWY 82/Blossom Hill Road, and Coyote Park parking lot is when you take a right at the light on the left side, but the orchard is if you go straight through the light into the neighborhood and its there for about a mile stretch on your right side.

There are also some really cool small lakes just south of the 85/101 interchange. Parkway Lakes as well as some lesser known small lakes near Monterey Hwy and Barnhart Ave. Just take Barnhart towards 101 from Monterey Hwy and you're bound to see them.

And of course, if you exit Bernal Rd and go West towards Santa Teresa, there is the pretty expansive Santa Teresa County Park that has some pretty cool views.

There is also Calero County Park if you exit Bailey Ave on 101 and take it West all the way to the reservoir, which also backs you up almost to Almaden Quicksilver Park, too bad this area is infested with animals carrying Haunta Virus, otherwise I'd think it'd be really cool to seek out some old mines in the area.

Hope that helps some, if anyone wants to get together and shoot let me know. I know far too few local photogs.

Larry

I haven't made it out to any of the meet-ups quite yet,  work always getting in the way, but I live right there off Coyote Rd and have shot in the area quite a bit. You ever trek out into the abandoned orchard down Coyote Rd? I always take my dogs out walking there and there is a lot of fun stuff to shoot, cranes, occasional foxes, tons of ground squirrels, even some homeless living out there.

I did a model shoot out there at night a couple months ago, you can check it out on my flickr account.

I also found this DIY tutorial on making a Ring Flash pretty interesting, I am going to give it a shot when I get the time.

I'd like to toss out a theme for a get together some time:
Low budget gear tricks.

Richard was talking about using foam core and car sunshades as
reflectors.

I make flash diffusers out of plastic bottles and a bit of foam:

And made a "big dumb tripod" base out of plumbing and a bit of
aluminum that I drilled and tapped:

I'd love to see more do it yourself, or inexpensive, gear that works
about as well as the expensive stuff.

By the way, I work down by Blossom Hill and 101 (next to Coyote Creek
Park), would anybody else be interested in getting together for lunch
and a bit of shooting sometime?
