During the photoshoot today, a number of people mentioned great sites for renting lenses, equipment, printing.. etc..etc.. or future places to visit.

How about if you have a suggestion, to post it here! (Dawn made a mental note to try to remember to bring a PDA for next time)

If you need webspace for online galleries, http://www.zoto.com... offers a free 1 year account of 2gb. Their pro account is only $2/month but with extra features.

I created one just to check it out and it's not bad.

If you need a Raw converter, Noise Reducer, or a simple program to create a website, you can check out this link.

It has almost all the best "Freeware" programs under one roof.

Some of these are great tools, such as RSE, PTlens, Simple Viewer, and more...

On the topic of photo websites, I'm actually involved with a group of photographers and internet technology experts building a new service that is focused on just this. It is called FocalPower. The idea for this service came about from a group of us internet savvy photographers not happy with the completeness of the services that were offered in the market today.

We are currently working toward our alpha release of the service, so we are not operational yet. The vision for the service is a single internet based solution for photographers (complete website--gallery, marketing, blogging, etc.; print sales; photographer forum for advice, review, etc.).

While we are preparing for the alpha release, we are soliciting feedback on the idea from the photographic community at large. We want to make the service as useful for everyone as possible.

If your interested in getting involved, please visit our website and participate in our survey (you can remain anonymous if you prefer).

Sonny_C,

I haven't been able to open either the Zoto.com website or your newly created one. I keep getting an error after a long wait.

Thought you would want to know...

Hmm... it worked on both computers I tried. Didn't know what happened there.

I'd like your new site idea, let us know when we can give it a beta run :)

Though this would be useful for this discussion and those who have their own photo website or blog...

FocalPower just released a Photo Quote Widget for free use on your photography website or blog. The widget will provide a random quotation from various photographer each time it is called.

The FocalPower website has more information about the widget.
