Hi Everyone...
we had some great discussions last night at the Monthly Meeting!

Oliver, one of our new members brought along his new iPad to demo his images on - slick! Oliver is just getting interested in HDR, High Dynamic Range, Photography and was asking about the tutorial that I have studied and use in making my own HDR images.

For everyone, here's the link to Trey Radcliffs HDR Tutorial!

The other big discussion centered around Color Management - the usual banter about profiles and calibration... way too big a discussion to bring online. But, one issue folks were stuck on was Soft Proofing - a way viewing your image in Photoshop to get an idea of what that brilliant image will look like rendered in ink or print...

Get started here on The Luminous Landscape (a great place for quick read tutorial - bookmark it).

It was awesome, once again, meeting all the new people that come! Wonderful to see some old-timers around ready to share and chat again!

As always, I'm looking for folks to assist me in creating Shootouts - Please be in touch to find out more....
more people offering assisting help means more Shootouts!!!

Cheers,
She

Thanks for the links and a great event.

I also learnt about this iPhone App which calculates the idea exposure for an HDR Bracket. You set you DSLR to spot metering. You meter the highlights and then the lowlights (Shadows). Plug the two meter readings into this app and it tells you the idea exposure for the scene. Set you exposure and then bracket around this value:
