SOS (Save Our Shores) was the organizer of the event. They put up the big blue tents and provided water and route guides. They should not have interfered with Meetup plans to gather us at Panorama Park first but they did and that vexed me mightily. I'm glad those of you who came out to do the walk had a good time. Alfa-crap, way to go!

Hi Rina, I'm sorry I missed this event it sounds like it would have been great. I'm just curious though, as I am new here, who is SOS?

I arrived at 10:00 am at Panorama Park and not ones was there, so SOS told me that the start point was Cate Park. and only to find few meet up peoples. Any way it was a nice day and have a lot of fun. We, the participants come up with the idea to call ourselves, for future meet up assignments.... The Alfa-crap team...

The SOS organizers sent my group to the other park before I arrived at 10:35. %*^&! They had no right to do that so I apologize for the mix up. We raced to Cates Park hoping to find the 1st group but I suspect you had well more than 15 minutes lead on us. More of a hike than a walk really & took more than 2 hours to complete at a good pace. Hope you enjoyed the sunny day on the waterfront.

I am so cross with SOS for sending the group to Cates Park before I arrived. I was 5 minutes late (10:35) and only 4 members of the group were still there so we raced to Cates Park hoping to catch up with the rest of the group. We got some strange looks when we asked strangers on the beach if they were from Meetup. Half of the event was a beach walk, the second half should have been labelled a hike! It took us well over 2 hours to complete and it was more than 5 km. I hope those of you who showed up enjoyed the sunshine and took some interesting photos. SOS doesn't have my support as good event organizers so I won't post this next year.

I came from Seattle for this meetup and it was to be my first event. Unfortunately, the directions said to meet in Panorama Park. When I got there, I did not see the pink umbrella and found out by talking to some people that the meeting place was in Cates Park. It was too late to head back to meet the group. Highly disappointing.

The walk was great, it was a beautiful day and I got many great photographs. The only problem was the overall planning seemed to be confusing to a lot of people. Many people came to the end of the walk instead of the start of it.

If you don't post a photo of yourself, we can't recognize you and greet you. It's up to you to let us know who you are.

Transit to Deep Cove available from Phibbs Exchange or Lonsdale Quay if you are coming from downtown. There is a direct route from downtown if you go on the Translink website.

Slow is fine, Jodi. I bet there will be lots of people stopping to take photos. Since we follow a pre-set route, you won't lose the group if we're all going to the same place anyway.
